Zachęta Gallery - National Gallery of Art is the biggest and the most-attended contemporary art gallery in Poland. The gallery exhibits works of recognized foreign artists, as well as actively promotes young Polish creators in Warsaw’s oldest showroom. The eclectic building survived WWII, and as well as displaying multiple exhibitions, the gallery offers a wide range of accompanying events, such as meetings with artists, film screenings, concerts, tours and workshops for children, families, businessmen and senior citizens. CSW - Zamek Ujazdowski Gallery: The largest permanent collection and one of the most active museums in all of Central Europe supporting new art and artists. Slow Future. Open 12.00-19.00, free on Tuesdays, closed Mondays. www.csw.art.pl

National Museum in Warsaw – One of the oldest museums in Poland, with one of the richest collections of medieval, 20th, and 21st century art, as well as interesting temporary exhibitions. The largest Polish painting – 'The Battle of Grunwald' by Jan Matejko – is painted on a canvas measuring 426 x 987 cm. Taking it off the wall took 400 climbing ropes.
